Not only Hot Wheels or who else make 1:64 cars

Not only Hot Wheels or who else make 1:64 cars

Let’s be honest—Hot Wheels are among the most popular car models (yes, we can call them car models, why not?). They are very affordable and widely available. However, their models are far from "perfect":

  • They lack movable parts like doors (although a few newer models include a single movable element, but it’s very limited).
  • The wheels don’t have rubber tires.
  • Replacing the wheels requires a drill.
  • Many models seem to be designed just to maximize variety rather than focusing on quality.

In this post, I’ll introduce you to other brands that produce 1:64 scale cars—and do it exceptionally well. Additionally, most of these cars can be converted into RC cars or even FPV cars with our conversion service and conversion kit.

Brands That Make 1:64 Scale Cars

Majorette

Majorette is a French toy manufacturer that produces 1:64 scale car models. Many of their cars feature movable elements, and their prices are similar to Hot Wheels. You can order most models directly from the manufacturer’s website: Majorette Official Website.

Zoom

I couldn’t find an official website or much information about this brand’s origins, but it seems to be a Chinese manufacturer. Zoom cars are sold exclusively on platforms like AliExpress and eBay. Some models feature detailed decals, rubber tires, and accessories like spare tires or bicycles. While the price is slightly higher, the quality is excellent. Below is an example of a Zoom car:

Tomica

Tomica, a Japanese brand established in 1970, remains highly popular, especially in Japan. Some of their models even have functional lights! The price is usually below €10. While Tomica is a Japanese brand, the easiest way to purchase their cars is through AliExpress.

XCartoys

Another impressive brand without an official website, XCartoys produces highly detailed cars. Their models feature metal bodies, intricate designs, and rubber tires. Check out an example below:

Kaido House

Kaido House is a U.S.-based brand with production in China, which helps keep their prices reasonable. Some models feature movable parts, like the example below. If you’re outside the U.S., the easiest way to purchase Kaido House cars is through AliExpress.

Mini GT

Mini GT is one of the most prolific manufacturers, regularly releasing new models. They offer a vast selection, showcased across 63 pages on their site. Most models come in minimalistic packaging that looks fantastic.
